ARŪNAS RUTKUS was born in 1961 in Vilnius, Lithuania. 
In 1985 the artist graduated Monumental Painting (fresco, mosaic) studies at Lithuanian Academy of Arts.

 

Arūnas Rutkus exhibited his works in more than 50 personal and group exhibitions in 17 countries, including:

- Art En Capital at Grand Palais (Paris, France)
- Salon de SNBA at Carrousel du Louvre (Paris, France)
- St. Petersburg Bennial „Spatia Nova" (St. Petersburg, Russia)
- European Painting at Sharjah Art Museum (Sharjah, UAE)
- The Art Society of International Monetary Fund (Washington, USA)
- NATO headquarters (Brussels, Belgium)

Artworks of Arūnas Rutkus can be found in museums, galleries and private collections all over the world. The Sheikh of Sharjah (UAE) has purchased the artist's painting titled "Horse", which he donated to the Sharjah Museum (UAE). NBA stars Arvydas Sabonis and Šarūnas Marčiulionis have works by Arūnas Rutkus in their art collections (Arvydas Sabonis owns a collection of fifty works of art by Arūnas Rutkus). The artist's painting titled "Leaf" belongs to the singer Sting.

Since 2017 Arūnas Rutkus annually donates his works to Caudwell Children UK and Amber Lounge Monaco charity auctions.

Arūnas Rutkus is also known as a film director whose short film won the Special Jury Prize at the Fragrances in Motion Awards at Milan Short Film Festival (Italy) in 2016, and his directed music video for Happyendless's song "No Tomorrow" won the MTV Fresh Award in 2008.

Since 1995 Arūnas Rutkus is a member of the Union of Lithuanian Artists. 

In 2012 the artist was admitted to the National Art Association of France (Société Nationale des Beaux Arts (SNBA)).
